South Dakota State’s big-bodied bat with pop and RBI upside
In the 2025 season, Dayton Franke flashed real middle-of-the-order juice for South Dakota State, hitting 8 home runs in just 65 at-bats while seeing action in 35 games, mostly at first base or DH. At 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, he brings left-handed power, physicality, and enough versatility to fit multiple offensive roles, and his 2026 note as a 3.70 GPA academic all-district honoree adds a sharp, dependable profile. He looks like the kind of sturdy, damage-making infielder teams like: not flashy, just loud contact and professional carry.
