Layke Fields brings real post potential, but the role has been inconsistent
In the 2025-26 season, Robert Morris freshman center Layke Fields showed a promising inside game and defensive upside, averaging 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks in 11 games while shooting 58.5% from the field. She flashed her ceiling with a 24-point outing against Mercyhurst and earned Horizon League Freshman of the Week honors, with one preview calling her a “true post presence” who brings size and defensive promise. The fit question is volume and consistency: the tools are there, but her minutes and production have been uneven.
