Chad Gilchrist brings experienced, versatile linebacker upside to South Carolina State
Gilchrist profiles as a tough, multi-role defender with linebacker and special-teams value, and his testing from his South Carolina State draft profile showed solid athletic traits for the position, including a 4.75-second 40-yard dash and 7.60 three-cone time in 2022. He was listed as coming off a January 2022 back injury, so durability is part of the evaluation, but his size, speed profile, and ILB/ST projection suggest a player who can add energy, tackle range, and depth if healthy.[1]
