the Billikens’ steady floor general with a proven passing touch
Janisha Gearlds’ Saint Louis profile is built around playmaking, control, and veteran poise: in her Billiken career she piled up 376 assists and 153 steals, ranking among the program’s all-time leaders, and in the 2011-12 season she was already a top on-ball distributor with a strong assist-to-turnover feel. Her differentiator is the kind of guard play coaches love in March and fans love in crunch time—smart decisions, defensive activity, and enough toughness to handle a heavy-minute role. If you want a composed connector rather than a high-usage scorer, she fits.
