Barton Simmons was a ball-hawking, hard-hitting Yale DB with All-Ivy pedigree
In his Yale playing days, Barton Simmons stood out as a 6-foot-3 defensive back with over 200 career tackles and second-team All-Ivy honors in 2002 and 2004, plus a reputation for physicality and playmaking. Yale coverage from 2001 noted he had already flashed as a freshman with 13 tackles and an interception in his first start, which fits the profile of a reliable, tone-setting safety type. If you want a defender who brings range, toughness, and proven production, that’s the vibe.
