Herman Johnson was a wrecking ball at LSU — and the Tigers loved it
In the 2008 season, Herman Johnson was LSU’s anchor at left guard, earning AP first-team All-America and first-team All-SEC honors while helping the Tigers average 166.8 rushing yards per game. At 6-foot-7 and about 350 pounds, he was a rare physical outlier with surprisingly quick feet, the strength to overwhelm defenders, and the versatility to play both guard spots and even tackle. The fit question is simple: if a team wants a mauler with NFL pedigree and power-run value, Johnson was a home run.
