veteran Virginia Tech safety with NFL-tested range and tackling
Edmunds brings a rare blend of size, experience, and reliability to the back end: Virginia Tech lists him as a safety, and his NFL résumé shows 100+ games with 465 career tackles and 28 pass breakups, plus a reputation for sturdy run support and clean tackling. Recent evaluation from Pro Football Focus was modest in a limited 2025 sample, but his 2023 tape drew stronger tackling marks, suggesting a player whose value comes from instincts, physicality, and versatility more than splash plays. He fits best as a seasoned, assignment-sound defensive back who can stabilize a secondary.
