Caden Kok returns to UAB after beating lymphoma, bringing strikeout upside and real grit
In the 2026 season, Caden Kok was sidelined after defeating Stage IV non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in January 2026, but UAB’s roster notes show why he’s intriguing: at St. Johns River State College he logged 35 strikeouts in 24.1 innings, a four-save relief profile, and a 12.95 K/9 that ranked second on the team. The 6-foot-2 right-hander looks like a power arm with late-inning value, and the bigger story is his comeback mentality — a competitive edge that can change a bullpen fast.
