Citadel’s bruising, high-upside power back
Broughton is a classic Citadel-style load-carrying back: in the 2004 season, he posted a career-high 181 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a statement win over Chattanooga, and his college résumé shows 2,643 career rushing yards with 28 total touchdowns, plus 11 100-yard games. He stood out for size, downhill power, and big-play ability — scouts also noted 4.5- to 4.6-second 40 speed for a 5-11, 255-pound back — while the main questions were pass-catching and blocking. The big twist: he overcame two knee injuries and still became a three-time SoCon all-star, so the tape says toughness is part of the package.
