Nate Castellon is Cal Poly’s do-it-all shortstop with a polished bat and spark-plug energy
In the 2026 season, Nate Castellon has been a steady table-setter for Cal Poly, hitting .328 with a .403 OBP, 86 hits, 31 RBI, 5 home runs and 15 steals while starting every game at shortstop.[2][3] He brings real two-way value for a program because he pairs contact skills and on-base ability with enough pop to punish mistakes, plus the speed to turn singles into pressure.[2][4] At 5-foot-9, he’s not the loudest athlete on the field, but he keeps showing up in big spots and already earned Big West weekly honors in 2025 after a blistering run of production.[4]
