Illinois State DB Otis Merrill: Tackling Machine with Ball-Hawking Upside
Otis Merrill, a freshman standout for the Illinois State Redbirds, started 10 of 11 games last season, piling up 41 tackles, 4 pass breakups, a forced fumble, and an interception—showcasing elite instincts and physicality at 5-11, 170 lbs from Cleveland's Glenville HS. His relentless intensity and playmaking ability make him a disruptive force in the secondary, drawing NFL scout buzz via Packers' situational stats pages; ideal for teams needing a gritty, high-motor DB who elevates defenses without elite size.
