Mercer guard Stephen Gavin: seasoned roster piece with leadership roots
Stephen Gavin is listed as a guard for Mercer, but the available public record is mostly his 2016-17 Mercer bio, where he was a 6-3, 190-pound high-academic guard from Hilton Head Prep with leadership chops and a team-first profile. His differentiators are not flashy box-score traits so much as maturity, composure, and off-court character: he was a four-year honor roll student, vice president of his school’s honor council, and editor of the literary magazine. For a team, that reads like dependable depth, strong culture fit, and low-drama guard energy.
