Caden Capomaccio is a swing-and-miss Gophers reliever on the rise
Capomaccio’s Minnesota profile is that of a power bullpen arm who has steadily improved: after a rough 2023 freshman season, he posted a 4.26 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 19.0 innings in 2024, and then delivered his best Gophers season in 2026 with a 3.66 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 19.2 innings before entering the transfer portal. His calling card has long been a lively fastball-slider-changeup mix, and Minnesota’s own scouting notes described him as “electric and athletic.” If a staff wants a righty who can miss bats and handle leverage innings, he’s a legit fit.
