UMass's 2002-03 MVP Forward, Now 48 and Retired
Jackie Rogers, a 6-8 forward from Syracuse, NY, dominated as UMass Minutemen's 2002-03 team MVP, leading the squad in scoring (12.9 ppg), rebounding (5.5 rpg), and field goal percentage (.599), earning the Lou Rebounding and Julius Erving Scoring Awards for his efficient, inside-out versatility. Post-graduation in 2003, he played pro in Chile as recently as CD Universidad de Concepcion. No current college performance—retired athlete with battle-tested leadership; a proven winner for teams valuing gritty, high-percentage bigs, though age rules out active recruitment.
