Valpo's Ironman Guard Turned Elite OSU Head Coach
Jake Diebler, Valparaiso Beacons' standout guard from 2005-09, was a relentless starter in all 36 games as a junior, leading the team with 41 steals and ranking Top 10 in the Horizon League in minutes (33.8/gm as senior), assists, and steals—showcasing his high-motor intensity, defensive tenacity, and ironclad durability over 78 straight games. Now Ohio State's head coach since 2024, he's engineered upsets over No. 8 Purdue, Big Ten tourney runs, and an NCAA bid, proving his basketball IQ and leadership; a proven winner ideal for teams seeking gritty, coachable talent.
