Dorien Gooch brings veteran linebacker toughness to Samford
Dorien Gooch is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker for Samford who entered the program as a two-time Defensive MVP and high-upside tackler, with a high-school résumé that included 102 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks in his senior season. His calling card is physical, downhill defense and instinctive run support, which makes him look like the kind of linebacker who fits a disciplined, aggressive scheme. If you value toughness, proven production, and a player with special-teams-friendly grit, he’s worth a look.
