Darien Walker brings veteran scoring touch and steady two-way guard play to Valparaiso
Walker’s value is as a dependable, experienced guard who has shown the ability to score efficiently enough to matter while also contributing rebounds, assists, and steals in a balanced way. In Valpo’s 2015-16 season, he averaged 10.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game and ranked second on the team in scoring, while ESPN’s season line lists him at 9.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists over 36 games, suggesting a player who can fill multiple gaps without needing the offense built around him.[6][5] For a team, he fits as a reliable connector rather than a flashy volume scorer.[6][5]
