a steady Ohio guard with veteran Bobcat roots
Ronita Whitfield is a former Ohio Bobcats guard who was part of the program from 1998 to 2001, so any “current” performance context is historical rather than active-roster. In the 1998-99 Ohio yearbook, she was described as a freshman guard who attacked the rim for solo layups and gave the team backcourt energy, while Ohio’s 1999-2000 roster notes showed her as a returning starter, which points to trust, versatility, and a coachable presence. She looks like the kind of guard a team values for toughness, pace, and reliable rotation minutes rather than flashy stat-chasing.
