Davidson’s longtime tone-setter at linebacker
In the 2010 season, Daniel Astrop was Davidson’s defensive signal-caller and a steady, high-volume tackler, leading the Wildcats with 68 stops while adding 5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 4 pass breakups, and 2 forced fumbles. He’d already earned All-PFL Honorable Mention and Academic All-PFL recognition, which points to a smart, reliable, coach-trusted defender with captain-level presence. The best fit for him is a team that values instincts, communication, and toughness over pure measurables—he’s the kind of linebacker who makes everyone else look more organized.
