Eli Kokenge brings live arm, two-way athleticism to Minnesota
Kokenge is a freshman right-handed pitcher for the 2026 Minnesota Golden Gophers, and the buzz around him is his power arm and versatility. Minnesota’s staff described him as one of the most dynamic arms they’ve seen in a while, with a fastball sitting 90-92 mph and a tight slider that gives him swing-and-miss upside; he was also ranked among the top players in the SD/ND/MN region. In 2025, he also flashed impact bat potential and made winning plays for Harrisburg, so he looks like a tough-nosed, high-upside fit rather than a finished product.
