a dependable Saluki line mover with old-school toughness
Matt Ruth has the look of a classic interior offensive lineman for Southern Illinois: sturdy, physical, and built to handle the dirty work in the trenches. Publicly available SIU material identifies him as a guard and shows he has been part of the program’s roster history, while archived profile notes from his playing era describe him as intelligent, hardworking, and a solid backup with the versatility to play multiple spots up front. If you want a low-drama, blue-collar fit who can bring effort and positional flexibility, Ruth is the type teams usually appreciate.
