Ashia McCalla brings proven scoring punch and veteran guard steadiness to UMBC
McCalla is a reliable, experienced guard who has shown she can carry offense in stretches, including a 15-point game against Virginia in 2022 and a 17-point effort in a 2023 UMBC loss, while also averaging 11.0 points per game in the 2022-23 season and earning All-Conference Third Team honors. Her value goes beyond raw scoring: she’s a seasoned rotation leader with academic recognition and the kind of steady guard presence coaches usually want in close games. If your team needs a proven, competitive backcourt piece who can create offense without needing the spotlight, she fits that profile well.
