Cal Poly DB with Ball-Hawking Pedigree and Pro Scouting Smarts
Caden McCloughan, a battle-tested defensive back for the Cal Poly Mustangs, flashed elite instincts in high school with 6 interceptions, 4 pass breakups, 1 sack, and a 31-yard fumble return TD during his 2018 sophomore year, ranking top-3 in De Anza League tackles; at Cal Poly in spring 2021, he started all 3 games with 2 solo tackles as boundary safety. His high-motor play, proven ball skills, and versatility scream NFL upside—now channeling that football IQ as a Carolina Panthers scout, making him a culture-fit steal for teams seeking gritty, scheme-smart DBs who elevate secondaries.
