Explosive, hometown RB with big-play juice in Sacramento State’s backfield
In the 2024 season, Burnett flashed as Sacramento State’s most explosive runner, averaging 8.0 yards per carry on 27 rushes and breaking out for 143 yards on just nine carries against Idaho State.[8][12] He’s a compact, local-product back at 5-foot-10, 202 pounds who brings burst and efficiency more than pure volume, but his role has been modest so far, with 42 rushing yards on 13 carries in 2024 after a five-game season.[12][3] If you want a developmental RB with big-play upside and some proven pop, he’s worth a look; if you need a workhorse with a heavy stat sheet, he’s not there yet.[8][12]
