proven, award-winning playmaker at linebacker
Backus was a highly decorated Coastal Carolina linebacker, earning All-American and Big South Defensive Player of the Year honors in both 2012 and 2013, with preseason All-American recognition entering 2014. His profile suggests a high-IQ, production-driven defender who brings toughness, consistency, and leadership—traits coaches value beyond raw stats. If you need a linebacker with proven pedigree and a track record of impacting games, he profiles as a strong fit; if you want fresh upside, note that the available information centers on his peak college years rather than current post-college performance.
