Josh Patterson brings athletic, versatile secondary value with early playmaking flashes
Josh Patterson is a former three-star defensive back prospect who arrived at Iowa State with strong ball skills, speed, and versatility, and he flashed that profile in limited 2025 action with 4 tackles, 1 interception, and 1 pass breakup across four games. He was rated as a top-80 safety nationally by 247Sports in high school and earned All-Conference honors after a senior season with 53 tackles, 11 pass breakups, 4 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles. For a team, he looks like a high-upside fit if you want a quick, disruptive DB who can make plays and has offensive background upside.[5][3][1]
