UMass' Towering 7-0 Sharpshooter with Elite Rebounding Pedigree
Luke Bonner, a 7-0 center for the Massachusetts Minutemen in the mid-2000s, stood out with unexpected long-range shooting—draining six 3-pointers in a single game after just one in his prior 24, per UMass athletics records—while echoing his high school dominance as New Hampshire's Gatorade Player of the Year (2003-04) with averages of 16 points and 17 rebounds as a senior. His rare blend of size, rebounding tenacity, and sudden perimeter threat made him a unique big man; ideal for teams needing a stretch-5 with proven intensity, though his pro career was brief post-college.
