Cortez Roberts brings veteran safety instincts to Murray State’s secondary
A long-time Murray State defensive back, Cortez Roberts is a 5-11, 198-pound safety with veteran savvy, steady tackling, and proven playmaking—his 2020 season included 20 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and an interception, while earlier career notes show multiple seasons of reliable production and strong ball skills. The appeal here is the floor: he looks like a disciplined, experienced defender who can fit into a system that values assignment-sound coverage and physical run support rather than flashy splash-only upside.
