Virginia’s steady paint anchor with efficient scoring and rebounding touch
In the 2011-12 season, Simone Egwu gave Virginia a dependable interior presence, averaging 5.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 49.0% shooting while providing efficient, low-drama production in the post.[1] She was also described by Virginia coverage as an athletic 6-foot-3 game-changer who helped trigger ball movement and played a major role in the Cavaliers’ frontcourt, while earning All-ACC academic honors for her consistency on and off the floor.[3][10][12] If a team wants size, activity, and a smart, team-first center, Egwu fits the bill nicely—she’s not flashy, but she brings substance, and that’s a very coach-friendly kind of loud.
