Yates Bland brings size, strikeouts, and a starter’s profile to UNLV
In 2026, Yates Bland has been a durable right-handed arm for UNLV, going 5-0 with a 5.44 ERA and 43 strikeouts, while his 6-foot-6, 235-pound frame suggests a classic power-pitcher build.[1] He’s a fit for teams that value size, innings, and strikeout ability over flash, though the ERA shows there’s still room for sharper consistency.[1][2] Prep and scouting data point to meaningful raw tools, including a fastball that has improved over time and a curveball with real bite, which gives him a developmental upside if you’re looking beyond the box score.[3][4]
