Redshirt Senior DL for Akron Zips with 29 Tackles, 7.5 TFL, and a Safety
Jelani Hamilton, a 6-5, 302-pound Redshirt Senior defensive lineman for the Akron Zips, stands out for his rare combination of massive size, explosive intensity, and game-changing versatility—evidenced by his 29 total tackles, 7.5 tackle-for-losses, and a safety in the 2025 season. Unlike typical DLs, Hamilton plays with relentless aggression and a high football IQ, consistently disrupting backfields and forcing turnovers; his intensity level is unmatched, and he’s known among coaches for his disciplined personality and leadership in the locker room. Though he redshirted the 2023-24 season due to a hamstring injury, he’s fully recovered and now a top-tier fit for any team seeking a dominant, versatile defensive presence who can anchor the line and elevate the entire unit’s performance.
