Walk-on turned All-Big 12 linebacker with real instincts
Brockermeyer’s best selling point is the rare combo of persistence, football IQ, and production: in the 2021 season at Texas, he logged 72 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, and earned All-Big 12 honorable mention[1][7]. He also brought a strong motor and leadership value after arriving as a walk-on, earning a scholarship and becoming a trusted starter. The caution flag is durability—his 2021 season ended with a knee injury, which matters when weighing fit for a physical, assignment-sound defense[7].
