Jamal Baggett brings veteran depth and steady back-end reliability to Akron
Jamal Baggett is a redshirt senior safety for Akron in the 2026 season, giving the Zips an experienced defensive back with a 5-11, 195-pound frame and veteran poise. He’s the kind of player coaches trust for assignments, communication, and physical run support more than flashy stat-stuffing. Baggett also has a track background from high school, which hints at functional athleticism and closing speed. If a team wants a dependable, mature safety who adds stability and special-teams value, he looks like a sensible fit.
