veteran **lead guard** with proven playmaking and leadership
Newman stands out as a **steady, pass-first guard** with documented ball-handling and playmaking value, including a team-high **3.9 assists per game** in college and experience as a long-time starter and captain, which points to strong on-court organization and leadership[1][9]. She also has a history as a productive scorer at Evansville, including a career-high **6.9 points per game** in her Purple Aces career, and her Hall of Fame recognition at Evansville North adds context about her local impact and competitive pedigree[4][5]. If you want a guard who can run a team, set the tone, and make teammates better, she fits that profile well[1][4][9].
