J.R. McConico brings veteran DB instincts to SMU
J.R. McConico is a veteran defensive back for SMU whose profile points to quick recognition, sound corner play, and dependable tackling upside rather than flashy measurables. SMU’s roster listings show him as a DB who has been part of the program for multiple seasons, and older team notes describe him starting at corner and producing four stops in a win over Tulane, which hints at a player coaches trust in real-game snaps. His best fit is a team that values steadiness, discipline, and experience in the secondary over raw hype.
