steady, physical ULM linebacker with run-stuffing value
Tyrese Hopkins is a returning redshirt senior linebacker for Louisiana-Monroe who brings size, experience, and a run-first mentality to the Warhawks’ defense. In 2024, he posted 46 total tackles in 11 games, including 16 solo stops, and he was again viewed as a key piece in ULM’s effort to shore up the run defense in 2025. At 6-foot-3 and around 245-250 pounds, he fits the mold of a tough inside defender who can fill lanes and blitz; the tradeoff is that his stat line is more workmanlike than flashy, but that’s often exactly what coaches want.
