Martha Pietsch gives UCSB a steady, high-IQ shot-maker off the bench
In the 2024-25 season, Martha Pietsch emerged as a reliable guard for UC Santa Barbara, appearing in 23 games with one start and averaging 4.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 14.6 minutes while shooting 100% from the free-throw line and 30.3% from three. Her best stretch came in a 12-point outing against Cal State Fullerton, when all of her points came from deep, which fits the profile of a quick-trigger perimeter threat with poise. At 5'5", she brings toughness, spacing, and sneaky value as a low-usage glue piece who can fit a smart, motion-heavy system.
