Marcel Tyler is a sturdy, disruptive veteran anchor up front for Western Michigan
Marcel Tyler has been a steady, productive presence on Western Michigan’s defensive line, with 2024 marked by appearances in all 13 games, six tackles, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry, and 2025 showing earlier-game production with 17 total tackles through midseason. In the 2025 season, he also flashed impact plays as a 270-pound interior lineman who can hold his gap, chase laterally and finish when the ball comes his way. What makes him pop is the combo of experience, reliability and just-enough juice to be a nuisance—classic lunch-pail defender who fits a physical, assignment-sound front.
