DeAndre Boykins is a steady, physical FIU safety with real production in 2026
In the 2026 season, DeAndre Boykins has already flashed as a tone-setting DB for FIU, posting 9 tackles and 1 tackle for loss in the Panthers’ opener against South Florida. He brings a compact 5-foot-11, 200-pound frame, plays with linebacker-like urgency near the line, and has the kind of versatile safety/nickel profile coaches usually love in space-heavy defenses. The appeal is less highlight-reel flash and more reliable, physical, assignment-sound football — a veteran fit for a team that wants toughness, experience, and a defender who shows up around the ball.
