Coastal Carolina's Tackling Machine and Defensive Anchor
Mike McClure, Coastal Carolina's standout linebacker, dominated in 2012 as a junior with 143 tackles, 8 TFLs, 3 sacks, and 1 INT, earning Second-Team All-Big South honors while captaining games alongside Defensive POY Quinn Backus—his relentless intensity and leadership propelled the Chanticleers to a Region 4-AAAA title and 11-1 record. A three-sport high school phenom with 9 varsity letters, McClure's football IQ, sideline-to-sideline speed, and blue-collar toughness make him a plug-and-play fit for any defense needing a tone-setter who elevates teammates.
