Former SDSU DB with legit ball-hawking high-school pedigree
Martinson entered South Dakota State as a **top-25 defensive back** and **top-100 Orlando Sentinel recruit**, then earned early college snaps as a true freshman by contributing on special teams and rotating in at cornerback late in the season. His calling card is clear: proven coverage instincts, turnover production, and competitive toughness, backed by a high school resume of 105 tackles, 13 interceptions, 17 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles across his junior and senior years. That profile suggests a defender who can help on coverage units and compete for depth roles in the secondary if he stays healthy and continues developing.
