Local lefty with late-inning trust and a nasty breaker
Jacob Barrett is a right-handed pitcher for Southern Indiana whose calling card is swing-and-miss stuff in pressure spots: USI’s staff says he can close games with one of the best breaking balls around, and he arrives after posting three saves in 2024-25 at Kirkwood Community College. In the 2025 season, he logged a 4.26 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 12.2 innings, and over two junior-college seasons he totaled 31 strikeouts across 20.2 innings while earning first-team Academic All-Region honors. He looks like a fit for teams wanting a competitive, high-leverage arm with polish and bite.
