Rylee Bocchini is Fresno State’s homegrown catcher turning into a clutch bat
In the 2026 season, Rylee Bocchini emerged as a breakout sophomore for Fresno State, earning Mountain West Player of the Week honors after a .600 average, .636 on-base rate, and 1.100 slugging mark in a sweep of San José State. She finished the regular season with a .315 average, 39 hits, 13 extra-base hits, and 19 RBIs, and capped it with a two-run walk-off homer against San Diego State. What makes her interesting isn’t just the bat: she’s a local product, plays with visible confidence, and adds steady defense behind the plate.
