Inside-the-Park Power & Defensive Versatility for Alabama State
Jayla Stewart, a 5'5" Junior outfielder/infielder for the Alabama State Hornets, delivers elite intensity and defensive versatility that transcends her modest 2026 stats (.184 AVG, 1 HR). Her standout differentiator is an inside-the-park home run against Mississippi Valley State in March 2026, showcasing explosive speed and game-changing hustle that pure averages miss. Majoring in Health Sciences and daughter of Janine and Jerry Stewart, she brings a relentless, team-first personality and the ability to play both corners of the diamond, making her a high-fit, low-risk addition for any team needing defensive flexibility and explosive energy. While her RBI count is low (1), her 11 runs scored indicate she consistently gets on base and pushes the offense, proving she's a catalyst who elevates teammates through sheer intensity.
