Payton McHarg gives Illinois State a versatile infield/outfield piece with real late-game pop
McHarg is a flexible **IF/OF** option for Illinois State whose standout moment in 2026 was a game-ending three-run homer in an 8-run eighth inning against Valparaiso, a useful sign of clutch offensive upside[9]. At 5'10", he profiles as a utility athlete who can help a staff by moving around the field and providing lineup depth rather than pure star-volume production, and the available roster/stat pages do not show a deeper public stat record, so his value is best read through role, adaptability, and situational impact[2][8][9].
