Virginia Tech's Clutch Kicker from the 2014 Era
Michael Branthover, a 5-9, 202-lb senior placekicker for the Virginia Tech Hokies in 2014, proved his mettle by drilling a critical 22-yard field goal late in the third quarter of the 2013 Sun Bowl against UCLA, narrowing the gap to 14-10 in a game that showcased his poise under pressure; reliable in short-range kicks and versatile enough to handle punting duties, he's a dependable special teams option for teams needing a gritty, accurate leg without flash—perfect fit if you value consistency over long-range bombs, though his career predates recent seasons.
