Sam Houston’s Academic Leader & Sharp-Shooting QB with 1,142 Yards, 9 TDs
Wade Pate, the 6-2, 219-lb Sam Houston Bearkats QB, delivered 1,142 passing yards and 9 TDs in the 2023 season while maintaining a 4.0 GPA as a Business major—proving he’s a disciplined, high-intensity leader off and on the field. Though not the primary starter in 2024 (with Hunter Watson and Jase Bauer leading the QB battle), Pate’s sharp decision-making (24:6 TD-to-INT ratio), classroom dominance, and 281 passing yards per game average in prior seasons make him a reliable, low-risk fit for any team seeking a smart, steady QB with elite academic focus and leadership intensity. His injury history is clean, and his personality radiates calm confidence under pressure.
