Clemson’s James Edwards: veteran DT with size, steadiness, and walk-on grit
James Edwards has been a classic Clemson depth piece: a 6-foot-2, 300-pound defensive tackle who logged 25 career snaps over 15 games from 2017-21 as an original walk-on, including a tackle in 2020. His value is less about flashy numbers and more about reliability, toughness, and the kind of behind-the-scenes buy-in coaches love. The resume says “earned it,” with ACC Honor Roll recognition and a completed Clemson degree, which usually tracks with strong character and team-first fit. If you want a rotational interior lineman built on effort, not hype, he’s your guy.
