Ronan Culkin brings a strong leg and early upside to Western Illinois
In the 2024 season, Culkin showed promising kickoff power for Western Illinois, averaging 51.3 yards on three kickoff attempts across two games, which suggests he can create real field-position value while he develops into a full-time kicking option.[2] He is still a young, lightly tested specialist, so the main question is consistency and volume rather than raw leg strength; that profile can be attractive for a staff looking for upside and a developmental kicker with local roots from Brother Rice in Oak Lawn, Illinois.[1][2][4]
