Kansas linebacker with veteran depth and steady special-teams value
Cooper Root is a Kansas linebacker from Wichita who brings size, experience, and reliability rather than flash. In his Kansas career, he has been a depth-and-role player with a reputation for doing the dirty work, and ESPN lists him with 1 solo tackle in available career stats while KU has historically credited him for academic honors and game participation. The fit question: if a team wants a smart, physical, low-mistake linebacker who can stabilize a room and contribute on special teams, Root makes sense. If they need an instant stat-stuffing playmaker, that’s not his lane.
